Technical Problem at Piluwa Substation Causes Power Outage in Kathmandu Valley

Kathmandu. A technical problem has arisen due to a wire falling on the 132 KV side while a new 132/33 KV, 100 MVA power transformer was being installed at the Piluwa substation in Bara. The problem occurred in the 132 KV system when a wire fell on the 132 KV side during the process of installing lights in the evening. Due to this, power supply was disrupted for some time in the Kathmandu valley and various other areas. The incident occurred while the transformer installation work was being carried out by the contractor's technicians.
Due to the incident, a partial system outage occurred in the 132 KV system. The authority has stated that one technician working in the same incident was injured and is undergoing treatment.
