Nationwide Highways Affected by Rain, Floods, and Landslides

Kathmandu. Due to continuous rain, floods, and landslides, major national highways across the country have been affected. As of 6:00 AM on Monday, various major road sections in different provinces have been completely or partially blocked. In Koshi Province, the Mid-Hilly Highway in Bokhim, Bhojpur, is operating one-way due to floods, with an alternative route also available. In Ilam, on the Mechi Highway in Rajduwali, the road is completely blocked due to continuous rain, and an alternative route is being used there as well. In Bagmati Province, many roads have been affected by landslides and floods. In Kavre, on the Khurkot-Nepalethok-Katunjebesi section, vehicle operation is prohibited from 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM due to potential floods, and will be resumed from 4:00 AM to 6:00 PM considering the situation. In Kavre itself, on the BP Highway in Roshi Rural Municipality-1 Pinthali, Narke, the road is completely blocked due to landslides. On the Kanti Lokpath's Hetauda-Thingan-Bagmati-Lalitpur section, nighttime vehicle operation is prohibited from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM until further notice due to the risk of floods and landslides. In Sindhupalchok, on the Arniko Highway in Bhote Koshi Rural Municipality's Char Kilo, Kodari, Lipid, and in Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality's Dugre, landslides have completely blocked the road. The Trishuli Mailung Syaphrubesi road section in Rasuwa's Uttargaya Rural Municipality-5 Khalte is also completely closed due to floods. In Gandaki Province, the Kaligandaki Corridor in Baimagar, Jaimini Municipality-8, Baglung, is operating one-way due to landslides. It will take some time for this road to operate in both directions. In Lamjung, a landslide in Bimirebhanjyang, Madhya Nepal Municipality-10, has completely blocked the Mid-Hilly Highway. Similarly, in Karnali Province, the Jajarkot-Dolpa road section of the Bheri Corridor is completely closed due to floods in the Rijegard River in Athbiskot Municipality-6, Rukum Paschim.
