Private Medical Colleges Refuse to Provide Stipends to PG and Intern Students

Kathmandu. Private medical colleges will not provide stipends to PG and intern students. They have stated that they will not provide any financial obligation created or paid for PG stipends and intern students.
The Association of Private Medical and Dental Colleges of Nepal has stated that member colleges will not provide stipends to PG and intern students until another official decision or notice is issued. A notice issued by the Association of Private Medical and Dental Colleges of Nepal states, ‘This decision is not a lack of sensitivity towards the legitimate concerns of students or residents. It is an institutional stance against the situation where a one-sided new obligation is being created without balancing the actual financial condition of private medical colleges, existing liabilities, and the additional financial burden being imposed.’
