Lawmakers Urge Government to Address Capital Expenditure Issues

Kathmandu. Lawmakers have stated that the government must be serious about solving the problem of budget freezing due to lack of capital expenditure. In the meeting of the Infrastructure Development Committee held on Monday, lawmakers stressed that the government should focus on increasing capital expenditure. Lawmakers emphasized the need to speed up development work by reforming laws.
Nepali Congress lawmaker Dr. Firdos Alam accused that while budgets for work that should be done through tenders are frozen, work done by committees proceeds immediately. He claimed that the work on some development projects is affected due to politicization and financial irregularities.
