Foreign minister says it’s unclear whether Nepal has signed copy of Sugauli Treaty

The Eminent Persons’ Group in 2016 also failed to locate the original 1950 treaty that defines the Nepal-India boundary.

At a time when the Nepal-India border dispute has intensified following India and China’s agreement to reopen the Lipulekh trade route, Nepal says it cannot locate the original 1816 Sugauli Treaty that established its boundary with British India.
