Western Colombia Hit by Powerful Earthquake, 132 Dead

Bogota. At least 132 people have died and 570 have been injured in the most powerful earthquake of this century in western Colombia on Monday. Buildings have collapsed in various cities due to the powerful earthquake, hospitals and other infrastructure have been damaged, and some people are buried under the rubble.

Colombia's newly appointed President Abelardo de la Espriella has declared a national emergency and said the government's first priority is to rescue people buried under the rubble.
