Earning And Learning

Our educational system places a lot of emphasis on theoretical knowledge, with little attention to practical knowledge and skills. We have failed to view education as anything more than a means of securing a job. Yet each year, thousands of our young graduates, full of talent, dreams and aspirations, face unemployment and migrate to other countries in search of jobs and better prospects for life. Each day, about 1,500 to 2,200 youths from Nepal leave the country for better opportunities in foreign countries. This is the data received from the formal channel; youths migrating through the informal channel could add to this statistic.
