Monkey raids cost farmers millions annually: Study

Kathmandu, Aug. 11: Growing conflicts with wild animals -- monkeys, wild boars and porcupines -- have emerged as a serious threat to agriculture and rural livelihoods in the country’s mid-hills, with rhesus macaques (species of moneky) alone causing an estimated Rs. 50 million in crop losses every year.
