International Youth Day: Nepal's Youth Struggle for Employment, Education, and Dignity

International Youth Day, celebrated every year on August 12, is not just a day for exchanging good wishes. This day poses a serious question to the state, society, family, educational institutions, political parties, and the market: have we only made youth a slogan for the future, or have we also considered them partners of the present?

The United Nations system considers International Youth Day as an opportunity to bring the issues, contributions, and challenges of youth to the attention of the global community. In recent years, this day has been linked to sustainable development, local youth initiatives, innovation, inclusivity, and leadership. For Nepal, this day is even more important because our country has a large youth population. However, that very youth power is struggling for employment, education, entrepreneurship, politics, and a dignified future.
