Typhoon Chan-hom Makes Landfall in Eastern Japan

Tokiyo. The Chan-hom cyclone, moving westward, made landfall in the eastern Japanese prefecture of Ibaraki on Wednesday, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said.

Even as Chan-hom weakened significantly in Japan, the meteorological agency has issued warnings of potential floods in rivers in the northeastern Tohoku region and the Kanto-Koshin region, including Tokyo, due to its prolonged impact.
