Scam Exposed: TikTok Camera Deal Leaves Pokhara Trekker Losing Rs 20,000 Over ‘Second-Hand’ Insta360 X4

Kathmandu. Rakesh Sharma (name changed), 32, of Prithvi Chowk, Pokhara, enjoys going on solo treks. Looking for a camera to capture the landscapes he encounters during his journeys, he began searching for an affordable option online.

While scrolling through TikTok, Sharma came across an advertisement for an Insta360 X4 camera posted by the account @nepalcamershop (Everest Camera Shop). A new Insta360 X4 typically costs around Rs 70,000 to Rs 80,000, but the TikTok account was offering a second-hand unit, reportedly used for only three months, for Rs 40,000.
