Ex-Gorkha Soldiers Protest in Pokhara Demanding Resumption of Indian Army Recruitment

Pokhara. Ex-Gorkha soldiers have protested in Pokhara demanding the resumption of recruitment under the Indian Army's Agnipath scheme. The protest and demonstration were organized by the Indian Ex-Servicemen Gorkha Brigade Nepal Pokhara on Wednesday. They submitted a two-point memorandum to the federal government through the District Administration Office.
A demand has been made to resume the recruitment process of Nepali youths in the Indian Army and to facilitate the renewal of ex-servicemen's organizations that mention the word 'soldier'. Brigade Chairman Colonel Krishna Bahadur Khatri informed that the demand is to immediately resume the Gorkha recruitment process, which was halted after the Indian government introduced the Agnipath scheme on June 14, 2022.
