Japan Floods Kill 4, Stranding Thousands at Narita Airport

Tokyo. At least 4 people have died due to floods and landslides after unprecedented heavy rains in Japan, while thousands of passengers were stranded overnight at Narita Airport. Life has been affected due to disruption of road and rail services, officials said on Friday.

Due to excessive rainfall since Thursday evening, the risk of floods and landslides increased in various areas of Chiba Prefecture. The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a high-level heavy rain warning for Chiba for the first time. Weather officials said the rain was reaching 'unprecedented levels'.
