Eastern Indonesia Earthquake Kills 51, Displaces Thousands

Jakarta. As many as 51 people have died in a 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck eastern Indonesia on Saturday morning. Officials said that about 5,000 people have been moved to safer places after the earthquake blocked roads and caused landslides.

The earthquake struck the eastern Nusa Tenggara province on Saturday morning. It is reported that 36 others were seriously injured and 77 people sustained minor injuries. About 341 aftershocks have also occurred since the earthquake.
