Energy Minister Stresses Modernization of Nepal Electricity Authority

Kathmandu. Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Biraj Shrestha has stated that the Nepal Electricity Authority should be developed not just as a traditional service provider but as a modern, commercial, and financially strong institution.

Addressing the 41st annual general meeting of the Authority, Minister Shrestha mentioned that the energy sector is now a major pillar of the country's economic transformation. Minister Shrestha presented the significant achievements of the Authority. According to him, 97.6 percent of the country's population now has access to the national transmission system, and approximately 5.92 million customers are connected to the Authority's services.
