Federation of Commerce and Industry Chairman draws government's attention to resolve dedicated and trunk line tariff dispute

Kathmandu. Chairman of the Federation of Nepal Industries and Commerce, Anjan Shrestha, has drawn the government's attention to immediately resolve the dedicated and trunk line tariff dispute that has been pending for a decade. He stated that the inability to resolve the same problem for 10 years is a reflection of the country's incompetence.
Speaking at the anniversary ceremony of the Nepal Electricity Authority, he said that such disputes are unnecessarily creating a negative message about businessmen in society. Chairman Shrestha also expressed dissatisfaction with the old tariffs suddenly imposed on industries. Citing the recent problem seen in water industries, he said, 'Businessmen have already determined the price of goods based on the then-prevailing costs and sold them. It is not just to bear the burden of old bills now. It is also a weakness of government bodies not to implement the then-prevailing policies in time.'
