Congress General Secretary Poudel Criticizes Party President Deuba's Role and 'Illicit' Gatherings

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress General Secretary Pradip Poudel has commented on the role of party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and the recently held national gathering of the dissenting group. Expressing his views in the central committee meeting held on Monday, General Secretary Poudel expressed dissatisfaction, stating that the party president Deuba, who should have been a referee, came wearing the jersey of one group.

General Secretary Poudel said that although impartiality and guardianship were expected from President Deuba, it could not happen. 'We expected that Sher Bahadur Dai would return as a referee, and that he would not return wearing anyone's jersey,' he said, 'But just by putting on the president's nameplate, no one becomes president; behavior should also be like that.'
