Iran Finalizes Strait of Hormuz Transit Deal with Oman Amidst US Talks Stalemate

Kathmandu. Iran is preparing to finalize a joint statement with Oman regarding the management of commercial ship transit through the world's important waterway, the Strait of Hormuz. This initiative comes as the 60-day negotiation period set for a peace agreement and end to the war between Iran and the United States is about to conclude without any concrete agreement.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghai told reporters in Tehran on Monday that an understanding has been reached on the transit route for ships in the Strait of Hormuz, and work is underway to finalize it through a joint statement.
