Supreme Court Justice Tek Prasad Dungaana Calls for Amendment to Rape Laws

Kathmandu. Supreme Court Justice Tek Prasad Dungaana has stated that the legal provisions related to rape need to be amended as the punishment for rape poses a risk of ending the dignified life of a child.

Speaking at a program organized by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs on the occasion of 'Sanhita Diwas-2083', he pointed out the need to amend the criminal code, as children under 18 years of age studying in schools and universities are at risk of their lives due to consensual sexual relations with peers, thus necessitating amendments to the criminal code.
