Congress MP Prakash Singh Karki Stresses Production and Employment Alongside Infrastructure Development

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress Member of Parliament Prakash Singh Karki has stressed the need to promote production and employment alongside infrastructure development. Speaking during a special time in the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, MP Karki said that while the construction of roads, bridges, tunnels, and airports is positive, the government's attention should also be on how these infrastructures impact Nepali production and employment.

"Sometimes we have measured development so much in cement and iron bars that it seems like only development has happened or only the bill for development has increased," Karki said. He argued that the priority of development needs to change, emphasizing that roads should facilitate the transport of products to market and tunnels should reduce trade costs.
