Woman Dies in Jeep Accident in Makwanpur

Kathmandu. Laxmi Badu, who was injured in a jeep accident in Jurikhet, Bhimphedi, Makwanpur on Tuesday morning, has died. She died at the military hospital in Chhauni, Kathmandu, during treatment. She is the wife of Tara Datta Badu, Registrar of the temporary bench of the High Court Janakpur in Birgunj. Registrar Badu was also injured in the accident. Makwanpur Police Superintendent Shyam Khatri informed that he was sent to Kathmandu from Hetauda for further treatment. According to Khatri, Registrar Badu and the jeep driver Chhuneelal Chaudhary, 32, from Rapti Municipality-8, Dang, were brought to Kathmandu. The Scorpio jeep, with registration number Province-3-002 Jha 5183, was going from Kathmandu to Hetauda when it met with an accident in the morning. High Court Janakpur temporary bench Birgunj judge Gokarna Dangi and four others who were injured in the accident were immediately brought to Kathmandu by helicopter. SP Khatri confirmed that Laxmi Badu died during treatment in Chhauni. The condition of Rita Badu, 31, daughter of Registrar Badu, who is undergoing treatment at the military hospital, is critical. Her 25-year-old son Ritendra is also undergoing treatment at the same hospital. The Badu family is local to Surkal, Dasharathchand Municipality-7, Baitadi.
