Devanaganj Incident Damages Nepal's Image of Religious Tolerance

Biratnagar. The tragic communal clash that occurred in the second week of July in Captainganj, Devanaganj Rural Municipality-3, Sunsari, and the subsequent security operation have dealt a serious blow not only to Nepal's internal peace and security but also to the image of religious tolerance and peace that Nepal has been building internationally.

The on-site study report prepared under the leadership of Engineer Deepak Kumar Sah, Member of Parliament from Sunsari Constituency No. 4, has pointed to the irresponsible use of social media and controversial statements by political leadership as the main causes of the incident.
