Rain with Thunderstorms Expected in Several Provinces

Kathmandu, June 9: Moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is currently occurring in various districts of Lumbini, Karnali, Bagmati, Madhesh, and Koshi provinces. According to meteorologist of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Rojen Lamichhane, the system causing rainfall is moving eastward, and he has urged the general public to take necessary precautions against potential risks from thunderstorms and rain.

"The system causing rain is currently moving eastward. Please take necessary precautions," he said. According to Lamichhane, there is a partial influence of the upper atmospheric westerly low-pressure line (trough) and local winds in Nepal. He mentioned that the rainfall in the Kathmandu Valley is expected to stop after some time. "At this time, different types of clouds are developing in various places across the country according to local conditions," Lamichhane said.
