Farmers Concerned as Sheath Blight Disease Appears in Kharahani Municipality's Rainy Season Paddy Crops

Chitwan. Farmers are concerned as the Sheath Blight disease has started appearing in the rainy season paddy crops in the Kharahani Municipality area of Chitwan.

According to the municipality's agricultural officer Sirjana Shrestha, the initial symptoms of Sheath Blight disease have begun to appear at the base of the paddy leaves in some areas of the municipality. Although the disease has not spread widely yet, farmers have been urged to be vigilant and regularly inspect their paddy crops as it has started appearing sporadically, she said.
