Budget Implementation Average in First Month

Kathmandu. The budget implementation in the first month of the current fiscal year has been seen as average. The budget expenditure and income in the first month of the budget brought by the government led by Balendra Shah (Balen) have been seen as average compared to the first month of the budget in the last five years. According to the report of the Office of the Controller General of Accounts, only 41.88 billion rupees have been spent in one month. This is only 1.97 percent compared to the allocated budget of 21 kharba 24 arab 34 crore. In terms of expenditure percentage, this expenditure is also the lowest since 2079/80. Earlier, last year i.e., 2082/83, 2.36 percent, 2081/82, 2.00 percent, and 2079/80, 1.24 percent of the budget was spent.
Out of the total expenditure, 21.40 billion 38 crore rupees have been spent on current expenditure, 1.32 billion 85 crore on capital expenditure, and 19.15 billion 35 crore on financial management during this period, which is equivalent to 1.68 percent, 0.31 percent, and 4.53 percent expenditure respectively. The government has made a slight improvement in revenue mobilization compared to last year. The share of revenue mobilization, which was 5.71 percent last year, has increased to 5.84 percent of the annual target during this period. This year, the government has set a target of collecting 15 kharba 31 arab 83 crore in revenue. Out of this, 92.22 billion has been collected in the first month. This amount is 9.19 percent more than last year. In the same period last year, 84.46 billion rupees were collected. Out of the collected revenue, 85.19 billion rupees are from tax revenue and 7.03 billion rupees are from non-tax revenue. Last year, tax revenue was 80.67 billion and non-tax revenue was 3.09 billion rupees.
