17-Year-Old Girl Found Dead in Suitcase in Thailand, Suffocation Confirmed as Cause of Death

Bangkok. Thai authorities have confirmed that 17-year-old girl Tunchanok Donhomla, found dead inside a suitcase in Thailand, died of suffocation. The Pattaya city police found her body naked inside a suitcase near the railway track on the morning of June 27. The suspect in this case, 45-year-old Australian citizen Simon Peter Carman, has been arrested by the police while preparing to flee the country.

Pattaya city police chief Anik Sra-Thongyu said that the autopsy report showed suffocation as the main cause of death. He also revealed that the girl had sustained a head injury, but it was not the cause of death. It is estimated that the accused may have inflicted this injury before putting the girl inside the suitcase and taking her to dispose of it.
