Cabinet Approves Salary Hikes for Early Childhood Educators, School Staff; Accepts Japanese Grant

Kathmandu. The Council of Ministers meeting held on Wednesday has made various important decisions including increasing the salary of early childhood development facilitators, school staff, and school helpers. Government spokesperson Sasmita Pokharel informed about the decisions made by the Council of Ministers.

As per the proposal of the Ministry of Education and Sports, a decision has been made to increase the salary grant provided by the federal government for early childhood development facilitators, school staff, and school helpers by Rs 5,000 per month. The Council of Ministers has decided to set the salary of teachers working under the teaching support grant quota at the secondary level (grades 9-10) and basic level (grades 6-8) equivalent to the salary of secondary third grade and lower secondary third grade respectively.
