Nepalgunj. The long-halted Nepalgunj-Pokhara regular air service will resume from the last week of Bhadra. Private service provider Buddha Air has stated that it will resume Nepalgunj-Pokhara flights from August 31. Buddha Air Nepalgunj chief Binit Bikram Shah informed that the flight will be resumed due to increased passenger demand. According to him, passenger demand for this flight, which directly connects Uttar Pradesh in India with Pokhara, has been increasing. The flight was suspended from May 5. Shah said that the flight was stopped due to a decrease in the number of religious tourists coming from India and high fuel costs. He informed that the service is being resumed due to the recent increase in the number of religious tourists and increased demand for flights. According to the schedule, flights will operate on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday. Buddha Air has announced that bookings are now open. Tourism entrepreneurs of Banke are excited about the resumption of Nepalgunj-Pokhara flights. Krishna Prasad Shrestha, chairman of the Tourism Promotion Forum Banke, said that this flight is important for tourism entrepreneurs as it directly connects citizens of western Nepal as well as India with Pokhara. According to him, with the operation of air service, it will be easier to reach the Bagheshwori temple and religious sites like Ayodhya in India from Pokhara and other areas. He also said that it will be easier for citizens of western Nepal including Banke, Bardia, Dang, Surkhet to reach Pokhara and Mustang. The Nepalgunj-Pokhara flight was initially started three days a week from July 17, 2021, after a long effort by local tourism entrepreneurs.
