Farmer Earns Rs 2.5 Lakh Per Season From Guava Farming

Four years ago, when Sirjana Khatri Bisht of L Gaun, Khajura Rural Municipality-2, Banke, decided to plant Taiwanese guava in her one bigha of land, she didn't have much idea about future income. The guava cultivation, started in the land where she used to grow paddy and mustard, is now providing her with a better income than traditional farming.
"From commercial guava farming, I earn up to Rs 250,000 per season," said Bisht. According to her, guava produces two seasons a year. Although it felt like taking some risk initially to start commercial guava farming in the land where she used to grow paddy and mustard, she is now satisfied as the income has started to become good.
