Nepal is our common homeland. This country, spread from the Himalayas to the Madhesh, from east to west, belongs equally to all Nepalis. The soil, rivers, language, culture, and history all have equal contributions from all communities.
But a serious question remains alive today: if the country belongs to everyone, why doesn't the state belong to everyone? This very question has forced communities including Madhesi, Janajati, Dalit, Tharu, and Muslim to reconsider their relationship with the state time and again for decades.
