Parliamentary Committee Reduces Governor's Term to 3 Years

Kathmandu. The Finance Committee has reduced the tenure of the governor. In the bill being discussed clause by clause for the amendment of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, it has been decided to reduce the tenure of the governor to 3 years.
Previously, the tenure of the governor was 5 years. In the amended bill, the tenure will be 3 years, but the government can extend it for 2 years if it wishes, informed Laxman Aryal, secretary of the committee.
