Tinted Glass Ban Ignored by Ruling Party Leaders

Kathmandu. There is a legal provision that no one other than the President and the Prime Minister can use black glass on vehicles. In accordance with that provision, a few days ago, the black glass of the vehicles used by Home Minister Sudhan Gurung and Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha was removed. Home Minister Gurung himself has been stating that using black glass on vehicles is illegal. To discourage such activities, he had even instructed to remove the black glass from his own vehicle. However, it has been found that many leaders of the ruling party Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) are using vehicles with black glass.

On Wednesday, many vehicles of leaders who came to attend the oath-taking ceremony of office bearers and central members at the RSP central office in Chahamati were seen to have black glass. Such a scene has raised questions about how responsible the RSP and its leaders are in implementing the law.
