September is on the horizon. Around this time last year, the lava of public anger and dissatisfaction had begun to boil beneath Nepali society, eventually erupting into the Gen Z uprising.

Nearly a year after that explosive youth revolt, an uncomfortable irony is becoming harder to ignore: the very political figures whose removal from power was at the heart of the movement are now moving, without much hesitation, to reclaim their parties and political influence.
