Chitwan Election Office Intensifies Voter Roll Purification

Chitwan. The District Election Office Chitwan has intensified the purification of the voter list to make the voter list pure, updated, reliable, and factual. According to the chief of the office, Bhimsen Karki, the details of the four lakh 42 thousand 82 voters in Chitwan in the last election are being updated. Karki said that the office has started the work from Bharatpur Metropolitan City, especially because the details need to be purified, including removing the names of deceased voters. According to him, the purification program, which started from Ward 10 where the office is located, will be carried out sequentially in all 29 wards of Bharatpur Metropolitan City. Karki said that after that, the purification work will be done in other municipalities. Chief Karki said that the office started the work of purifying the voter list by sending it to the wards from August 11. According to him, arrangements have been made for the ward office to verify the voter list with the details in the birth registration book and send the details, including the voter identity card number, in case of death. He said that the details from all wards of Bharatpur Metropolitan City will be sought by September 15 and the work of purifying the voter list of the metropolitan city will be completed by September 1. Karki informed that the work of purifying the voter list in other local levels of the district will start from October 18. Chief Karki urged everyone to cooperate in updating the voter list by coming to the District Election Office with the death registration certificate if they are a family member or relative of the deceased. He said that arrangements have been made for citizens who have received national identity cards to register in the voter list based on the details of their identity card. He said that citizens who do not have a national identity card will have to be present at the District Election Office for biometric details by filling out the online form through the Election Commission's system. He informed that applications can be submitted online to correct errors in the voter list such as name, surname, address, change polling station to a convenient location, remove duplicate names, and update details due to death or relocation. Similarly, Chief Karki informed that 6,775 new voters have been added in Chitwan since the last election.
