Former PM Baburam Bhattarai's Secretariat Denounces 'Anti-Hindu' Portrayal

Kathmandu. The secretariat of former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has expressed serious concern, stating that some self-interested individuals and groups are trying to portray him as anti-Hindu with the aim of fulfilling their political interests. The secretariat has objected to the distortion of videos and statements, the creation of misleading pictures and posters for social media promotion, and activities spreading religious hatred.

It is noted in the attention letter that being secular does not mean opposing any religion, but rather the state treating all religions and beliefs equally and ensuring freedom of faith for every citizen. Similarly, believing in science, adopting a scientific outlook, or being an atheist is a matter of individual ideological freedom, and presenting it as an activity against any religion or religious community is entirely inappropriate, according to the secretariat.
