Two Nepali Films 'Hali' and 'Kamala Miss' Underperform at Box Office

Kathmandu. The Nepali box office has seen very weak performance from the films 'Hali' and 'Kamala Miss'. Both films, which were released simultaneously on August 8, have failed to gross even 2.5 million rupees at the box office. According to the box office report released by the Film Development Board on Monday, based on the business until 10 PM on Sunday night, the film 'Hali' has managed to gross 22,969,200 rupees in 2 weeks. During this period, 8,385 tickets for the film were sold. The film 'Hali', which raises a strong voice against the Chhaupadi and Hali practices, was written by director Om Pratik. The film features the acting of Om Pratik, Saroj Khanal, Pramod Deep, Aruna Karki, Arjun Gurung, Vidya Karki, Naveen Shrestha, Kanchan Dulal, Kamal Gaunle, Vishal Pahari, among others. Similarly, 'Kamala Miss' has an even more precarious situation than 'Hali'. The film has managed to gross 8,684,500 rupees at the box office in 2 weeks. During this period, 2,696 people watched the film. The film, inspired by the famous play 'Kohi Kina Barbad Hos' by litterateur and playwright Vijay Malla, was made by Nir Shah. The film features the acting of Nir Shah, Ramesh Budhathoki, Vasana Timilsina, Shivam Saraf Chhetri, Aarav Dahal, Bhavana Magar, Krishna Murari Dhungel, Sushant Kumar Shrestha, Jayanta Regmi, Suresh Thapa, Rajan KC, and Sanjay Khatiwada, among others.
