Hetauda. The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has formally submitted a letter to the Parliament Secretariat demanding the removal of Uddhav Thapa, the former parliamentary party leader of the Bagmati Province, from his provincial assembly member post. However, a dispute arose between the Deputy Speaker and the RPP's Chief Whip regarding the subject of the letter during the Business Management Consultative Committee meeting.
The letter, signed by RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden and addressed to the Speaker, states that Uddhav Thapa acted against the party's policies, directives, and bylaws. The RPP's Central Working Committee decided to remove him from his Member of Parliament position and also revoke his basic party membership, citing that Thapa had unilaterally given his support for the appointment of the Chief Minister under Article 168 (2) of the Constitution, contrary to the party's decision. Along with the letter, recommendations from the Disciplinary Committee and explanations, along with 8 other various documents, have been attached.
