Bahundangi Residents Oppose Elephant Biological Corridor Plan

Residents of the Bahundangi area, who have been suffering from the attack and damage of wild elephants for years, have said that an elephant biological corridor should not be built in a way that endangers human settlements. As the state has put forward a plan to build a biological corridor from Bahundangi to Koshi Tappu as an elephant path, locals have emphasized that the settlement should be prioritized.

Bahundangi residents have demanded that the government should prioritize settlements and citizens, stating that an elephant biological corridor should not be built in a way that endangers human settlements. The then chairman of Bahunagangi Village Development Committee, Nilkantha Tiwari, said that citizens are being displaced in the name of animal conservation.
