NAIMA Flags Lack of Clear EV Testing Standards, Warns of Market Confusion in Nepal

Kathmandu. The Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) has raised concerns over the absence of clear national standards for motor capacity testing and certification of electric vehicles (EVs), saying the gap has created confusion in the Nepali market.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, NAIMA said Nepal has yet to fully establish the institutional testing systems and integrated technical procedures required for proper evaluation of EVs. The association noted that the lack of standardized mechanisms has led to differing interpretations of vehicle specifications at various levels.
