Tornado Damages 300 Homes in Southern France, Injuring 41

Kathmandu. A powerful storm (tornado) in the village of Pompas in southwestern France has damaged about 300 houses, injuring 41 people. Local authorities said 15 of the injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

In Pompas, which has a population of about one thousand, the storm blew away the roofs of houses and damaged various structures. More than 120 rescue and emergency personnel have been deployed at the scene. The husband of a pregnant woman said she was injured when her house collapsed.
