Flood Alert Issued for Coastal Areas Due to Inflow from Tibet

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged residents of coastal areas to exercise high alert after a large flood entered the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers from Tibet.
Binod Parajuli, chief of the Flood Forecasting Section, said that a large volume of water flow entered the Bhote Koshi river from Tibet around 9 am on September 10. Parajuli stated that preliminary information has been received that this flood has already reached below Bidur in Nuwakot via Rasuwa and has caused significant damage in the upper areas.
