Sahan Arachchige to Play for Kathmandu Gurkhas in Nepal Premier League

Kathmandu. Sri Lanka's all-rounder Sahan Arachchige will play in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) from Kathmandu Gurkhas. NPL franchise team Gurkhas announced on Wednesday through their social media that they have signed Sahan. The 30-year-old Sahan has played 5 One Day Internationals and one T-20 International for Sri Lanka. He made his One Day International 'debut' in July 2023 against the West Indies in Harare during the World Cup qualifiers. Sahan has also been captaining Sri Lanka 'A'. He played a key role in recently helping Galle Gladiators win the title in the Lanka Premier League. When Galle Gladiators won the Lanka Premier League for the first time, Sahan played all 11 matches, scoring 240 runs at a strike rate of over 147. Sahan also has prior experience playing franchise cricket in Nepal. He is a left-handed batsman who can bat in the upper order and also bowls off-spin. Kathmandu Gurkhas' Cricket Director Sharad Vesawkar says, 'Sahan, who has a winning mentality, is a spirited player, he can consistently deliver one-dimensional performances and has won matches from Lanka Premier League and Sri Lanka 'A' by playing according to plan under pressure.' 'I am confident that his nature and clear mindset will help our batting lineup. His batting, bowling, and fielding abilities can be beneficial for Kathmandu Gurkhas.'
