Flood Damages Rasuwa, 250 Pilgrims Missing

Kathmandu. Great physical damage has occurred in Rasuwa when the flood of Lhende River coming from Tibet, China, mixed with the Bhote Koshi. Houses in Timure Bazaar of Rasuwa and Trishuli Bazaar of Nuwakot have been washed away by the flood. The flood is currently going towards Chitwan via Dhading. More than 250 pilgrims who had gone to Kailash Mansarovar and Gosainkunda have become out of contact due to the flood.

Tourist Police Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bishwaraj Adhikari of the Department of Tourism told Ratopati, 'Most of the pilgrims who went to Mansarovar have not come in contact. Only a few from Gosainkunda are out of contact. The exact number of people on the journey has not yet been confirmed. We are currently collecting data and are focused on relief and rescue,' he said.
