Government Deploys Helicopters for Flood and Landslide Rescue

Kathmandu. The government is extensively mobilizing air transport for the immediate rescue and relief distribution of citizens stranded in flood and landslide affected areas. Special preparations have been underway since 6:30 this morning through the Rescue Coordination Center (RCC) at Tribhuvan International Airport.

Twenty helicopters have been kept on 'standby' for further rescue operations. In addition, 10 more helicopters have already been deployed in flood-affected areas and surrounding regions. These helicopters will conduct rescues in places inaccessible by land due to adverse weather and geographical difficulties.
