FIFA President Considers Expanding 2030 World Cup to 64 Teams

New York. FIFA President Gianni Infantino has said that FIFA will study the possibility of expanding the 2030 FIFA World Cup to include 16 more teams, making the tournament a 64-team event.

In an interview with Swiss media outlet Bluewin, Infantino said that the proposal to increase the number of teams from the current 48 to 64 could be meaningful. He said, 'After this World Cup concludes, this subject will definitely be studied and discussed in the relevant committees.'
