Speaker Aryal Emphasizes Collective Responsibility for Preserving Nepali Language, Literature, and Culture

Kathmandu. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has stated that preserving Nepali language, literature, and culture is everyone's collective responsibility. Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Monday to mark the 213th Bhanu Jayanti, he emphasized that the contribution of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya should not be limited to mere remembrance but should be embraced to further enrich language and literature. Speaker Aryal mentioned that preserving our original identity and culture amidst modern technology, global competition, and changing social structures is challenging. Discussing that the simplicity, clarity, and proximity to the common people shown by Bhanubhakta are equally relevant today, he said that the younger generation should be attracted to Nepali literature. He pointed out the need to promote creativity and innovation and transform Bhanubhakta's ideals in a time-appropriate manner. He stated that every act done in honor of Bhanubhakta is a guardian of Nepali nationality and an indicator of originality. In the program, Speaker Aryal said, 'Today, we should not just remember Bhanubhakta, but by embracing his contribution, we need to resolve to further enrich Nepali language and literature.' He mentioned that preserving and enhancing our language, culture, and identity amidst modern technology, global competition, and changing social structures is a collective responsibility. He added, 'The path of simplicity, clarity, and closeness to the people shown by Bhanubhakta is equally relevant today. We must attract the younger generation to Nepali language and literature.' Speaker Aryal said that we need to move forward by promoting creativity and innovation and transforming Bhanubhakta's ideals in a time-appropriate manner. He stated that the acts done in honor of Bhanubhakta are acts of guarding Nepali nationality and indicators of Nepali originality. On the same occasion, Speaker Aryal also honored two creators who have made significant contributions to the field of Nepali literature and culture. The honored individuals are senior litterateur Maheshwor Sharma and cultural expert Dr. Anna M Sister.
