Road Department Prepares for Monsoon Disruption

Kathmandu. The Department of Roads has made special preparations across the country to immediately bring into operation roads and highways that may be obstructed due to floods and landslides during the monsoon season.

The department has mobilized landslide clearing equipment and technical manpower with high alertness in strategic and high-risk areas across the country. According to Shyam Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Director General and Spokesperson of the Department of Roads, special vigilance has been maintained on the Nagdhunga-Muglin road section of the Prithvi Highway, which has high traffic volume and high risk of landslides.
