Nepali Congress Whip Niskal Rai Draws Attention to Poor Condition of Ilam Roads

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress whip Niskal Rai has drawn the government's attention to the dire condition of the Mechi Highway and other alternative road sections in Ilam. Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, MP Rai stated that the citizens of Ilam are facing great hardship due to the lack of infrastructure.

He commented that Ilam, known as a 'green city', has now become 'muddy' due to the dilapidated state of its roads. He mentioned that the terrible condition of the Mechi Highway has created a situation where it is not even possible to transport sick and new mothers to hospitals in Jhapa for treatment.
