Salt Trading Corporation Collaborates with Private Companies for LPG Supply Amidst Road Blockage

Kathmandu. Salt Trading Corporation Limited has started filling gas in its 'STC cylinders' in collaboration with private gas companies to ensure smooth supply of cooking gas. The corporation adopted the policy of bringing gas in its 'STC cylinders' filled at private gas companies' plants to Kathmandu after the Trishuli river eroded and completely blocked the Prithvi Rajmarg at Krishnabhir in Dhading last Sunday, prompting the corporation to seek new alternatives.

The blockage of that highway also affected the corporation's 'LPG plant' in Jughekhola, Dhading. As it was not possible for gas bullets to reach its plant, the corporation has arranged to bring gas into the valley through alternative routes by filling gas in its empty cylinders in collaboration with private companies like Manoj and Baba Gas, which have plants in easily accessible locations. Bajresh Jha, Assistant Chief Executive Officer of the corporation, informed that the corporation has adopted this policy to prevent gas shortage for consumers, keeping in mind the situation of severe natural disaster.
