Nepali Congress Internal Power Struggle Intensifies Ahead of Convention

Kathmandu. An internal power struggle has intensified within the Nepali Congress regarding the convention process and dates, leading to the summoning of a Central Disciplinary Committee meeting. The establishment faction has called the disciplinary committee meeting after the faction of former party president Sher Bahadur Deuba prepared to publicly announce a separate convention schedule.

The disciplinary committee meeting is scheduled to be held today at 2 PM. A notice issued by the Disciplinary Committee Secretary Dinesh Thapamagar states: 'The Nepali Congress Central Disciplinary Committee meeting will be held on Thursday, Bhadra 18, 2083, at 2:00 PM at the party's central office, BP Smriti Bhawan, BP Nagar, Lalitpur, and the presence of the committee members is hereby requested as per instructions.'
